After working as a nurse for over 20 years and as a specialist cancer nurse for 15 of those years, I have worked with a lot of amazing people and their families, providing support and knowledge to help them navigate life with a cancer diagnosis.
I have seen the benefits of good physical and emotional health in helping these people manage their illness and the treatments it involves.
I am now a professional health and wellbeing coach specialising in health, nutrition and wellness.
I believe that living a healthy lifestyle can help prevent illness and provide a greater ability to cope with it if it occurs. Good nutrition, regular movement and positive lifestyle habits all contribute to our physical and emotional health and wellbeing.
Personal
I live with my husband, two children and a dog, and have often found it challenging to juggle all my roles and responsibilities without feeling exhausted, stressed and overwhelmed.
I have become more aware of the importance of keeping myself healthy in order to continue my career and manage all my other roles: being a mum of two, wife, daughter, sister and friend.
I want to enjoy all that life has to offer, appreciate the little things and live in the moment, so I prioritise the health and happiness of myself and my family. I also want to be a good role model for my children as they grow up.
